If you’re interested in becoming a co-op director, we’re glad to let you know that it has never been this easy! In fact, just by registering, you’ll be able to enter your co-op into a directory of countless others, and you’ll be immediately available to everyone else in the area interested in taking part in one.
With that being said, there are a few things that you’ll need in order to start a co-op.
- You’ll need other people. After all, a co-op with just you and your children can’t really be called such. Thankfully, you shouldn’t have trouble reaching out to them through our directory, or our forums.
- You’ll need to set rules. This is usually decided by all of your members. When will you meet? Will you have membership fees? Will you be hiring outside teachers or will the parents be doing all the work? These are necessary to prevent conflict and misunderstandings.
- Plan activities, doing things together with your co-op brings you together and also gives your children some social conditioning. Whether this is planting trees, publishing a newsletter or going on field trips together.
- Get an educational plan. You all need to be on board with the same pace and content to teach your children. Because of this, using our curriculum creation tools is much advised to bring unity to your co-op.
Most of this and everything else you might need is contained within our co-op in a box package, so if you aren’t sure where to start, that is an excellent place.
So what are you waiting for, start your own co-op today!
